business jargon

business jargon

Avoid using business jargon, like 'synergy.' People make up stupid jargon to justify their asking for a raise or promotion. Saying, "yeah, we should all work together," doesn't sound as artificially hip as "synergy" so you end up with this universe of made-up, Orwellian terms that either mean the same as a not-so-sexy-phrase or mean absolutely nothing. "Mission-critical" adds nothing "important" already describes, you ass-munching loser. Mindshare? Ugh. Shut the hell up. If you're a manager, you'd do well to remember that your employees are not laughing with you, they're laughing at you. Also, your spouse secretly resents you and your sons on the lacrosse team are serial date-rapists.
