Bonecrusher was a member of the Constructicons, a Voltron-like unit which joined up to form a larger robot, Devastator. Bonecrusher was the left ass cheek, a vital part of any large, menacing robot with buttocks.

If we're honest with ourselves, we've gotta cowboy up and admit that the Constructicons were crappy toys. Yes, every kid wanted them when they came out, but boy did they look stupid. Not a lot of thought went into figuring out how this construction equipment was going to transform into robots. Less went into joining these critters into Devastator. If the toy was any indication, the Autobots could quickly render Devastator into a pile of scrap by sitting back with a lemonade and waiting for the gangly mass of poorly joined limbs to take a single step. Step! Crick! Crash! Down goes Devastator. Battle over. The TV show and Marvel Comics ignored this inconvenient fact because there is no widely accepted onomatopoeia for an Autobot sipping lemonade. "Sip!" and "Slurp!" both fail to convey the metallic sound of lemonade traveling down an iron, robotic throat.
