If the van's a rockin' don't come a knockin'

If the toys are any indication, Ironhide was Ratchet's twin brother. Rather than follow his bro to medical school. Ironhide hooked up with a rock/blues band. Nothing special, but they did a killer cover of "Ramble on Rose."

Ironhide is supposed to be an Autobot tough-guy. You wouldn't know that from looking at the toy.

The Ironhide and Ratchet toys were absolutely horrible. Their windshield chest rose above where their head was supposed to be. In place of a head was a sticker on a thin flat tab. The arms had no shoulders. Hideous. The back of the van transformed into some kind of gangly weapons platform that would likely have trouble targeting a limping milk cow, much less a squadron of Decepticons in jet mode.

This is an example of lazy-ass toy design.
